History of trains in Colombia and the world

The first railway was built in Panama, when it was still part of Colombia. Other lines were built in order to connect the main cities and the countryside, especially in zones of coffee growing. The centuries 19th and 20th were especially difficult to Colombia because economic deficit, bipartisan violence and non-existing industry and technology. There passed many years since the invention of the first locomotive in the world until the arriving of the first one to Colombia, and while railways were being built here, these were obsolete compared to other countries.

  2. I am happy that at least we have a train that was useful for people specially to transport coffee. Maybe if we learn something from that time we would realize how important is to have a train for our nowadays necesities. We need more trains, faster and more technological. If we could have one train some years before when it was a bit more difficult, we should try to build one now that is easier thanks to technology. It is sad that the history of trains and railways in Colombia is so short, but I am hopeless that at least it isn’t imposible to have a train and railway.

  3. I would like to know more in-depth about the history of trains here. I recommend you put some links where the reader could go for more information; however, it is a good summary of the main facts that a person needs to know about this topic. On the other hand, I would add more information about the history of trains in the world, because that is part of the title you gave to this entry.

In other matters, it is meaningful to realize the importance of trains and the possibilities to use it here in Colombia. Maybe in the future more trains and railways could be built to make transportation easier and more effective.
